Backlot Boutique · Atlanta, GA

Faked by hand, long before AI.

Faux marble, Venetian plaster, copper patina and woodgrain: the finishes a film scenic artist painted by hand for 12+ years of sets. Now they're card decks, game boards and puzzles, printed to order for whatever your game night turns into.

Approved on set

Every finish starts as a sample board.

On a film set, nothing goes on the walls until the production designer signs off on a sample board: a small panel that shows exactly how a finish will look.

Our designs come from that same tradition. Venetian plaster, patina, marble and woodgrain, the finishes that make a set look expensive on camera, turned into patterns for cards, boards, puzzles and paper goods.

The backlot story

From the backlot to your game night.

Backlot Boutique is run by a specialty finisher who spent more than twelve years in Atlanta's film and TV scenic departments, painting, aging and finishing sets.

When the film work slowed down, the skills didn't go anywhere. Now they go into designs for game night and gifting, printed to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse.

Coming soon: featured makers, other film folks who found something new to make.
